چکیده
Leflunomide is an antirheumatic drug commonly used by females, as this disease common in females and there are chances of pregnancy while taking medication initial months prescribed lacks studies related to its teratogenic potential. Present study was conducted know about teratogenicity mice embryos. Pregnant were exposed oral route on gestational days 6 11 either single dose one the or continuous doses. The embryos collected day 19 gestation, measured examined for external anomalies. Findings suggested that embryo lethal when given 100% resorption In group, maximum resorptions found early pregnancy. Other anomalies included malrotated limbs, open eyes, kinking tails, defect anterior abdominal wall visceroptosis anencephaly. these noted leflunomide only 7 8. above findings suggest interferes with embryonic growth It also neural tube closure leading eyes tails may affect epithelial mesodermal growth. perhaps lateral folding visceroptosis. present concludes embryolethal should be avoided human

Among the various exogenous agents inducing developmental anomalies in higher mammals, administration of chemicals to pregnant animals may be a suitable means for the detection of the mechanism of teratogenesis. Sinclair ('50) recognized an abnormality of the nervous system of embryos after treatment of pregnant mice of an albino stock for several days from 7-8th day of gestation, with ethyl-ur...
